Model United Nations is an extracurricular activity, in which students take on the role as diplomats of a country and simulate the discussions inside a specific body within the United Nations system.
The Heidelberg MUN Society initiated its activities in October 2014, with the objective of providing students in Heidelberg the ability to get to know more about the international system.
Today the Heidelberg MUN Society has two overall goals: keeping weekly training sessions going and attending conferences around Europe.
Our training sessions are open for all students of a higher-education institution in the region, and we are constantly striving to diversify our pool of members, with the objective of encouraging intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue.
On a regular basis the Society sends delegations to several conferences all over Europe to put all the knowledge gained from the training sessions to practice in the “real MUN world”.
