After encountering the GöMUN society for the first time in Paris at WorldMUN, and once again at the MAMUN conference, a small delegation of four Delegates eagerly made their way to this year’s GöMUN 2023 in Göttingen. * The Opening Ceremony, followed by a delightful Champagne Reception in the University’s Aula, set the stage for a truly remarkable start to GöMUN 2023. *
This extended weekend was full of incredibly fruitful debates on pressing global issues, such as the Syrian conflict, the question of Arctic Security, and the establishment of a Nuclear-Weapon Zone in the Middle East. To keep our delegates engaged and focused, various refreshments, snacks, and engaging activities were provided.
The event continued with sensational socials that provided opportunities for our delegates to socialise and party during the barbecue and two other memorable parties with other delegates and the Secretariat. Even after the lively social events and short nights, our delegates Marcus Roth and Tianmu Wang achieved notable successes by being awarded the title of Distinguished Delegate and Best Delegate respectively. Well done!
In summary, GöMUN 2023 surpassed all expectations and proved to be as huge of a success as their notepads. The conference was flawlessly organized and gave our delegates the opportunity to make unforgettable connections!
We couldn’t have wished for a better experience, and we are already eagerly anticipating our participation in next year’s GöMUN in 2024!
