Munich Diplomacy Summit

The delegation of the Heidelberg MUN Society e.V. participated in the Munich Diplomacy Summit 2024 with great success. Eight delegates made their way to the wonderful city of Munich to have an incredible time in the “TUM School of Management“ building for two days full of debate. It was the second MDS the delegation travelled to after already having participated in 2023.

Having arrived on Friday evening, the delegates were eager to show their skills on Saturday. After a warm welcome at the opening ceremony, the delegates began working in their committees. The Economic and Social Council discussed the topic of „Brain Drain“, while the Security Council, which featured more experienced MUNers, debated the situation in Syria. The high level of all delegates combined with a friendly atmosphere made the summit enjoyable right from the beginning. Having had fruitful discussions throughout the day, the delegates enjoyed their social in the „Löwenbräukeller“ on Saturday night.

On the second day, concrete solutions were needed and the delegates performed outstandingly. Both committees came up with outstanding resolutions, which was highly appreciated by the chair and the secretariat. We want to hereby congratulate our delegates Noah Ries, Jakob Wehr and Lander Rupprecht for receiving two „Honorable Mentions“ as well as one „Best Delegate“ award, showing the excellence of HDMUN.

The Heidelberg MUN Society e.V. wants to thank MUNTUM and MUNAM e.V. for creating such an amazing experience for all delegates. A special thanks goes out to Maxim Baumgärtel and Daniel Henke from MUNTUM who worked incredibly hard to make this summit work. Our delegates had the chance to form enduring relationships thanks to the perfectly planned conference! We are looking forward to next year’s conference already!
