How a session works

What happens at a session?

Most sessions are a shortened committee: roll call, a speakers’ list, moderated and unmoderated caucuses and, if time allows, a vote on a draft resolution. Workshops focus on one skill, such as speeches or resolution writing.

Do I need to prepare?

A little. After you sign up you get your country and a short topic brief. Ten minutes of reading is enough for a training debate.

I’ve never done MUN. Can I come?

Yes. Read the Beginner’s Guide in the resource library and sign up for a buddy if you like. Nobody expects perfect procedure at your first session.

I signed up but can’t make it.

Please tell us as early as possible, ideally through the same form or by email, so we can give your country to someone else.
